1] What does a Job mean?

— — — Basically, a job is a piece of work, especially a task done as a part of routine of one’s occupation or for an agreed price. A job is just basically going to work for earning a pay check. A job is a work you perform to earn money for your basic needs.it can be full-time, part-time or even for short-term. Companies expect their employees to perform their individual jobs in exchange for regular payment and to be responsible for the duties laid out to them. One can also define ‘job’ as a short- or long-term contract between the employer and the worker. For an instance, a company hires a local contractor to complete an office renovation job, here they agree upon the payment terms and accordingly, the job ends once the project is complete.

2] What does a Career mean?

— — — A career is an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person’s life and with the opportunities for one to progress. It is a long-term professional journey one may determine on his passions. It is the path one embarks upon to fulfil his/her professional goals and ambitions. It requires a certain level of training or education to achieve these goals. People who pursue careers often have set salaries with benefits such as ‘retirement plans’, pensions, bonuses, etc. They also gain benefits beyond money such as personal pride, work satisfaction and self-worth.

3] The Main Difference between Job and a Career….??

— — — Jobs helps a person to make money and a career is a job where someone works towards his/her lifelong goals.

— — A job is ‘safe’ as a stability of work and income is there. However, shifting priorities, especially in resource jobs can abruptly change the demand and require relocation which is an unstable factor. Here risks are completely external. But in careers, it does not mean stability of work as it encourages one to take risks. The risks are often internal and therefore already planned.

— — — People who want a career are always thinking about long- term goals. They are thinking about what they can do now to make those goals happen in the future.

— — — Beginning job workers often work hard for little money. It takes them at least a few years to earn big pay checks and have more interesting job duties.

— — — Jobs are basically not meant to last for a long time whereas, careers mostly last for a long period of time.

Now think of it in this way: If life were a video game, a job would just be one level whereas, having a career means that being committed to that game and advance to higher levels!!!
